The S was Samick's standard Fender Stratocaster style body. It was positioned above the DS and below the SSM in the lineup. The bass version was the PB. The short-lived SS-430 was introduced in 1992 as the first S model with a solid wood body (non-laminate). It was made redundant in 1993 as the other S models gained solid wood bodies.
